Good Afternoon everyone! Every day is feeling more and more like fall and I'm not sure if I'm ready for the cold. I do love the holidays though so I guess I'll just have to put on my warm woolies and buck up. lol

Today I have been working on pendants for my first wholesale order! I'm so excited, I hope she likes them and I hope you do too. I almost used up a whole large block of black Premo. This technique is so fun and really lets one use their imagination.

I've also been getting ready for the first Beginning Polymer Clay class at the Rigby Library. We will be making a cute little birdhouse but the birds have all checked out and are on their way to warmer climates. I love, love, LOVE teaching about clay. Just to see the look on people's faces when they have finished a project. They light up and totally make my day.

I have several polymer clay artist's that I admire and drool over their work and today I would like to share a URL to the site for Kim Korringa Design. I love her bright colors and her excellent work on her canes. Take a look, I bet you'll love her work also.

I hope you don't mind, I'd like to take a moment to remember where we were on this most infamous day 11 years ago today.

It's hard to believe it's been 11 years since the life changing event of 911. Most people know exactly where they were when they heard that a plane had flown into one of the towers. Myself, I was working at eBay and as were were all glued to the televisions, our fraud department let us know there was someone trying to sell pieces of the World Trade Center building on eBay. Our first job was to make sure no one was profiting from this event. How about you? Where were you on 911, 11 years ago? I hope everyone takes a moment to remember so maybe we can prevent something like this from ever happening again.

South Eastern Polymer Clayers

.
I'm so excited to get started blogging about the most wonderful art medium that I have ever known, of course, Polymer Clay. The goal of this blog that I am doing is to show as many people in Eastern Idaho who would like to learn the basics and beyond of polymer clay. I hope to share the knowledge I have been so fortunate to learn over the 22 years that I have been "playing" with clay. I must be one of those people who still have a "child within" because my child loves to play with clay!
First and most important, I would like to thank those who introduced me to clay and taught me so many more things than just claying. I'm sure I'll miss someone and I probably will, I have such a great memory. lol. My first mentor was Laurie Earl, we used to have so much fun at our clay nights. She was one of the first pioneers of claying and her precision and talent still amaze me today. Here is a list of those that I've learned from, taken classes from and spent time with and I thank them each from the bottom of my heart for their patience and teaching skills. Donna Kato, Lorie Follett, Eileen Loring, Sharon Olhorst, Judy Summer, Jana Roberts Benzon, Heather Campbell, Christie Friesen, Lisa Pavelka, Jacqueline Lee, Judy Belcher, Darlene Clark, Karen Lewis, aka Klew, Lynne DiNio, Maggie Magio, Marty Woolsey, Maureen Carlson, Sandra McCaw, Marie Segal, Sarajane Helms, Sara Shriver, ShaneAngel, Laura Timmons, Bev Kennedy and most recently Sage Brey. All of these women have touched my life in so many ways and I just can't thank them enough, their talent is among the best of the best.
P.S. I'd also like to thank my hubby Rick, for supporting me in my journey

Today I went to Michaels to pick up some clip earrings for a client and guess what? All of their polymer clay is on sale for .99 cents. I would suggest, run don't walk over and get all the clay you need. This is the best price I have seen in years. I was bummed though, they were out of white and the Pearl Peacock Blue.

For those who are interested, Tomorrow I'll be listing clay classes for the next month.
Thanks to all of you,
PK
